The annual savings of power-plant pollution  would be hundreds of millions of tons of CO2 and carbon, not to mention a multitude of other power plant pollutants. 

Of course this conserves non-replaceable fuels, lessens reliance on foreign oil, and directly improves our nation’s economy by making many businesses more profitable by lowering a major operating expense.

It would be possible to get such a drastic pollution-reducing inexpensive system mandated by the governments in “green” states such as California.
